Salvation

“For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

God has a wonderful plan for your life. He wants only the best for you and loves you more than anyone else loves you! God wants you to be a part of His family, but sin keeps you from having the wonderful life God has planned for you.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Have you ever done something wrong like being selfish, telling a lie or hurting others? Those are called sins. When we do wrong things, we disobey God. We can’t hide our sins from God because He knows all about them.

“…Christ died for our sins...” (1 Corinthians 15:3)

Can you do anything about your sins all by yourself? No! The Good News is, God has done everything! God sent His One and Only Son, Jesus, to die on a cross. Jesus was buried and came back to life so that you would not have to be punished for your sins.

So what do I tell Jesus?

Tell Him that you are a sinner and that you are sorry for your sins and want to change. Tell Him that you believe that Jesus died for you and that you trust Him. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be the boss of your life. When you do this, God will forgive you and you will become His child.

Now what do I do?

After you have prayed asking Jesus to be your Savior and the boss of your life, have your parents call the Children’s Ministry Office at 901.260.5708 to request “The Blue Book.” Once you have completed the “The Blue Book,” have your parents call us and schedule a time when we can meet and talk about your decision. New Christian classes, called “Journey with Jesus,” are scheduled throughout the year. This class will help you as a new Christian to grow in your daily walk with Christ.
